The interests involved in my issue are the professional athletes and citizens of the United States that I believe have jobs that classify them as "heros". But sadly to say there aren't to many other interests that are involved. Not many citizens are aware of this issue or just choose to ignore it. Yes i believe that my classmates should be involved in this issue. It needs to start somewhere and eventually lead to the media becoming an interest.

With my issue, I believe that it is intended that the Professional athletes are paid more. Because sports are loved so much in this nation, nobody will step up and bring this issue to the attention of everyone. Even the media has not made this know. But I believe that the media is on the side of the athletes overpaying salary. This is a big problem and I don't see it being resolved anytime soon until the media realizes this is wrong.

What this chart shows is the the salaries of our professional athletes compared to some of our societies "prestige jobs" today. By looking at this chart, you can definitely tell that the bars on the athletes' side are towering over the left. I don't necessarily believe that this should be reversed but meet somewhere in the middle. But by just glancing at this graph you can tell something needs to be changed.

I believe that by showing this picture in the media and posting it in cities and towns would turn many heads. This picture emphasizes the athletes and their relationship with money. In this image it shows a soccer player diving for a ball with a dollar sign on it which symbolizes his "want" for money. This picture can also show that the players effort is determined by how much money they receive.

With the issue of overpaid athletes, I think that everyone is aware but no one wants to come forward and admit that it is not right. This issue is not widely spread throughout the media. Only a few articles here and there have been published about the issue but other than that it has been not brought about. Like I have mentioned before, there is a big debate and split decision on this issue but no one yet has come forward to try and fix or make this problem better for society as a whole. All in all I don't think we are being manipulated to think a certain way, we just need to come forward and stand up for what we think is right and get this issue out into the media.

I believe that the best freedom that would fit with my topic would be positive liberty. If we want our heros to be paid the right salaries, we will have to demand for them to be paid the correct amount. If it is left up to the people of the United States they would rather have people in the athletic or entertainment world be paid more and I believe that is incorrect. If we truly want this salary problem fixed, we will have to go to the government, and not let it rest in the hands of the people.

When it comes to professional sports, or even sports in general, money should not be a necessity for players to play hard. But this is becoming a big and upcoming issue is professional sports today. Athletes are demanding way to much money and the question is if they really NEED higher salaries than they already have. Here are a few ideas I have for possibly achieving security on this issue: Lower athletes salaries and higher those of fire fighters, policemen, and soldiers, but give athletes incentives for playing better. For example adding extra money to their salaries by how well their performance is throughout the year (Touchdowns, Interceptions, Catches, etc). Now instead of athletes just "wanting" more money, now they will have earn it.
