The interests involved in my issue are the professional athletes and citizens of the United States that I believe have jobs that classify them as "heros". But sadly to say there aren't to many other interests that are involved. Not many citizens are aware of this issue or just choose to ignore it. Yes i believe that my classmates should be involved in this issue. It needs to start somewhere and eventually lead to the media becoming an interest.

With my issue, I believe that it is intended that the Professional athletes are paid more. Because sports are loved so much in this nation, nobody will step up and bring this issue to the attention of everyone. Even the media has not made this know. But I believe that the media is on the side of the athletes overpaying salary. This is a big problem and I don't see it being resolved anytime soon until the media realizes this is wrong.

With the issue of overpaid athletes, I think that everyone is aware but no one wants to come forward and admit that it is not right. This issue is not widely spread throughout the media. Only a few articles here and there have been published about the issue but other than that it has been not brought about. Like I have mentioned before, there is a big debate and split decision on this issue but no one yet has come forward to try and fix or make this problem better for society as a whole. All in all I don't think we are being manipulated to think a certain way, we just need to come forward and stand up for what we think is right and get this issue out into the media.

I believe that the best freedom that would fit with my topic would be positive liberty. If we want our heros to be paid the right salaries, we will have to demand for them to be paid the correct amount. If it is left up to the people of the United States they would rather have people in the athletic or entertainment world be paid more and I believe that is incorrect. If we truly want this salary problem fixed, we will have to go to the government, and not let it rest in the hands of the people.

When it comes to professional sports, or even sports in general, money should not be a necessity for players to play hard. But this is becoming a big and upcoming issue is professional sports today. Athletes are demanding way to much money and the question is if they really NEED higher salaries than they already have. Here are a few ideas I have for possibly achieving security on this issue: Lower athletes salaries and higher those of fire fighters, policemen, and soldiers, but give athletes incentives for playing better. For example adding extra money to their salaries by how well their performance is throughout the year (Touchdowns, Interceptions, Catches, etc). Now instead of athletes just "wanting" more money, now they will have earn it.

I believe a efficient outcome for my policy issue would be to pay the professional athletes less and use that money and raise the salaries of those who protect and serve our country. But who shall decide who gets the salary raises and how much? I believe that elected officials selected by the people of the United States should have the power to decide this issue. I know it won't be an easy one because this is one of the biggest debated issues going on in the sports world today. Overall, an efficient outcome i believe, would be for the heros of our country(firefighters, policemen, soldiers, etc.) to be rewarded a higher salary by lowering those of professional athletes.

Are athletes overpaid?
I strongly believe that in our society today, professional athletes are overpaid. I don't understand why they should be paid so much for just playing a sport. It makes me wonder if they truly love the game they play if they demand to be paid that much money. I think it is wrong to pay athletes more than our societies heros like our fire fighters, police men, and soldiers. Why should people risking there lives everyday be paid less than those who are enjoying themselves and playing the sport they love? Professional Athletes, in my opinion, should be paid a lot less, and that money should go to our societies heros who risk their lives. If athletes become upset and decide they don't want to play anymore, I say we should let them. I actually enjoy watching college sports over professional because I think they play with more passion and heart. And that is without being rewarded with money. They play it for the love of the game.
